Staff Nurse

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department, providing high-quality, family-centered care to pediatric patients across a range of acute and chronic conditions. As a key member of a multidisciplinary care team, the Staff Nurse delivers evidence-based nursing care, performs comprehensive assessments, develops and updates individualized care plans, administers medications and treatments safely, and closely monitors patient status to ensure optimal outcomes. The nurse collaborates with physicians, specialists, therapists, and allied health professionals, actively participating in care coordination, rounding, and discharge planning to promote continuity of care. In alignment with Boston Children’s mission-driven and innovation-focused culture, the Staff Nurse champions patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives, adhering to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices. The role includes educating patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, medications, and at-home care, using age-appropriate communication and cultural sensitivity to support understanding and engagement. The Staff Nurse documents all care accurately and timely in the electronic health record, utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and technology to support clinical decision-making, and participates in ongoing education, training, and competency development.
