Compensation Specialist

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Alexandria, VA that is seeking a Compensation Specialist is responsible for administering and analyzing compensation programs to ensure competitive, equitable, and compliant pay practices. This role supports salary benchmarking, job evaluations, pay recommendations, compensation planning, and reporting while partnering with HR, Finance, and business leaders.Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct market pricing and salary benchmarking using compensation surveys and market data
• Evaluate positions and provide compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, and internal transfers
• Support annual merit increase, bonus, and compensation planning processes
• Maintain salary structures, pay grades, and compensation policies
• Analyze compensation data and prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local compensation regulations
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners on offer development and compensation decisions
• Maintain compensation data integrity within the HRIS
• Assist with compensation audits, pay equity reviews, and special projects

Skills

• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ years experience in HR, payroll or finance
• Compensation must have been a part of their recent roles
• Excel - Vlookups, concatenate, Match, Find functions

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
