Our Department of PM&R is on the lookout for a physician leader to take on the role of Associate Chair and Medical Director for the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF). This position will report directly to the Chair of Rehabilitation Services and will oversee the service line for our health system. The Associate Chair will play a crucial role in managing and directing all PM&R services, delivering direct patient care to inpatients at the IRF, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards from federal and state agencies, promoting academic research within the department, and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the department. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic, clinical, quality, administrative, teaching, and research expertise.

Key Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or equivalent from an accredited medical institution

• Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)

• Active physician license in the State of New York

• Experience in leading an IRF and PM&R clinical or educational program, ideally within a major medical center or health system

• Exceptional communication and management abilities, with a talent for collaborating effectively with medical personnel, hospital management, and staff

• Recent experience in managing IRF patients using widely accepted and current methodologies
