Self-Pay Collections Specialist

Position Overview This position will be the main concierge pertaining to Patient/Self Pay collections including patients without insurance and those that have balances after insurance. In this position, you must enjoy talking on the phone to patients/customers and in a professional manor while helping our patients understand the self-pay regulations, functions, and responsibility for past and future appointments for services at UHS. Compassion, accurate communication and conflict resolution are all key attributes to being successful in this position. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Revenue Cycle Self-Pay, UHS Revenue Cycle Operations Primary Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $22.97 - $34.46 per hour, depending on experience ----- Education/Experience Minimum Required: Five to seven (5-7) years’ experience within a collection agency or healthcare system setting. Experience with computerized billing software, interpreting Insurance explanation of benefits, and superior Patient Customer service. Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and CPT coding. Preferred: Degree within Communications or Business Management. A minimum of two to three (2-3) years Patient Billing Experience.
