RN - Emergency Department Night Shift

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, working the night shift from 6 PM to 6 AM. This role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care in a critical access hospital setting with Level IV trauma designation and specialized cardiac and stroke care capabilities.

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Emergency Department Director, you will deliver general nursing care using sound judgment and nursing principles. You will administer medications and treatments, assist providers during patient examinations, and ensure accurate documentation of patient care. Your role is vital in promoting continuity and excellence of care for patients in urgent and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
• Provide timely and accurate information to physicians and healthcare team members.
• Assess, care for, and document patient conditions using the nursing process.
• Prepare equipment and assist providers during treatments and examinations.
• Develop individualized care plans within 24 hours of patient admission.
• Maintain fiscal responsibility by appropriately charging supplies and pharmacy items.
• Ensure legal compliance by obtaining necessary consents and practicing within nursing regulations.
• Participate in orientation, staff meetings, in-service trainings, and special projects.
• Foster teamwork and a culture of trust and integrity.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred.
• At least one year of emergency room nursing experience is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current and unrestricted nursing license in the state of Washington.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications are required.
• TNCC certification must be obtained within six months of hire.

• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles.

• Respect for patient privacy and adherence to HIPAA standards.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
