Compensation Pay Range: $20.05 – $28.00 Essential Functions Patient Care: Instructs community exercise programs in land, aquatic, and virtual‑based classes Instructs personal training sessions Screens community participants for safety/appropriateness for community exercise program Provides education to community participants within scope of position Monitors class volumes and alerts community programs manager if too high or low Inspires participant loyalty to programs via class instruction techniques Environment and Department Maintenance/Infection Control: Assists in the maintenance of the department’s overall physical environment Maintains practices according to infection control guidelines for the department Monitors pool chemistry per departmental guidelines as applicable to area Works with Rehab Team members to ensure all equipment is cleaned before and after each use Clerical Duties: Scans community participant documents including MD clearance, health history, participant waiver Schedules appointments as applicable Assists with Customer Collection functionality in Workday as appropriate Answers phones Calls patients as directed Photocopies and files community programs paperwork Faxing Data collection Relays messages to community programs manager and receptionist Communication: Communicates effectively with staff, peers, colleagues, patients, and family members in all manners of communication (written, verbal, non‑verbal) Appropriately uses all forms of South Shore Health communication in accordance with standard practices Responds in a timely manner when feedback is requested Educational Activities: Serves as mentor to new community programs staff Actively participates in department projects/events/activities including program marketing Actively promotes rehabilitation services to frontline colleagues, patients, and families Serves as ambassador for department to visitors (tour/observation of patient care) Assists with continuous Quality Improvement activities, as directed Takes responsibility for continuing professional development education Technology and Learning: Possesses willingness and ability to learn and utilize new technology and procedures that continue to develop in the role and throughout the organization Embraces technological advances that allow us to communicate information effectively and efficiently based on role Accurately uses software applications as needed for job performance Professional Behaviors: Maintains a professional and appropriate manner of conversation Maintains composure during stressful situations Exhibits effective interpersonal and communication skills Completes clinical and nonclinical tasks as well as assigned activities according to policies, practice guidelines and assigned deadlines Utilizes critical thinking and problem solving in day‑to‑day operations as well as in emergent situations Communicates appropriately and effectively following chain of command Demonstrates dependability and flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department Non‑Essential Functions Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department and hospital Performs other duties as assigned Job Requirements Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in exercise‑related field preferred. Minimum Work Experience: Minimum of one year previous healthcare/exercise experience preferred. Additional Experience: Previous coursework and/or participation in work or volunteer experience in the area of health, fitness, or athletics. Required Classes/Skills: BLS – Basic Life Support. License/Registration/Certification Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH), Instructor – Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH).
