**Position is based in Cleveland, Ohio. Relocation assistance provided .

\n

Primary Job Functions:

\n

\n

Perform engineering functions for custom design products. These functions will include (but are not limited to:

\n

\n

\n
• Gear tooth geometry analysis and ratings.
\n
• Shaft deflection analysis.
\n
• Bearing life analysis and selection.
\n
• Lubrication system design.
\n
• Housing design.
\n
• Gear drive layout.
\n
• Assembly and testing notes.
\n
• Review and approve drawings from designer detailers for release to the shop.
\n
• Enter requisition text for major raw material items into BaaN system for purchase.
\n

\n

Secondary Job Functions:

\n

\n

\n
• Point contact for technical communications (post order) with customers and sales personnel.
\n
• Disposition Nonconforming Material Reports (NMR’s).
\n
• Issue Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) when appropriate.
\n
• Support shop / assembly when questions or issues come up.
\n
• Create detail drawings when necessary.
\n
• Other functions as required by management.
\n

Qualifications:

\n

\n

\n
• B.S. Mechanical Engineering.
\n
• Minimum of five years' experience in linear/rotational machine design a must (experience within gear industry preferred).
\n
• 3-D modeling experience, Solid Works experience a plus.
\n
• Able to read and understand machine drawings.
\n
• BaaN (ERP System) experience a plus.
\n
• Microsoft Office applications.
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
\n
• Creative thinker and problem solver.
\n
• Capable of managing multiple priorities.
\n
• Participate in H&S Safety program.
\n
• Able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.
