Opportunity: Nurse Practitioner - Critical Care Pediatric

Job Details:

• Provide advanced practice coverage in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (TCUP)
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) with 30-minute self-determined unpaid lunch break per shift
• PICU signout at 6:15 AM/PM; TCUP signout at 6:30 AM/PM
• 12 shifts required per month
• Patient ratios: PICU Days Monday-Friday 5:1, weekends 7:1, PICU Nights 10:1; TCUP Days 5-8:1, TCUP Nights 16:1
• Patient population: Pediatrics
• PICU is a 20-bed department providing high-level continuous monitoring care for infants and children with a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery
• TCUP is a 16-bed department caring for patients with moderate to high complexity of disease, including those recovering from solid organ transplantation, requiring non-invasive mechanical ventilation (BIPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula), anticoagulant therapy titration, and post-operative specialty surgery care
• EMR: Epic (charting system experience required)
• Practice setting: Hospital
• NP board certification required: CPNP-AC; PAs must have a master's degree in PA studies or equivalent
• California license and DEA (Schedule 2/2N) required
• Minimum 1 year of PICU, PCICU, or Pediatric Hospitalist experience required; 3 years of experience preferred
• BLS certification required (must be AHA)
• Preferred experience in Pediatric Oncology
• No call requirements
