Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Contracts Manager to support contract management and compliance activities within the aviation industry. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, managing contractual risks, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Approximately 90% of this role will focus on drafting, reviewing, and revising commercial contracts. The remaining responsibilities will involve procurement contracts, U.S. government contracts, risk management, compliance, bid support, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Drafting, Review, and Negotiation

• Draft, review, revise, and negotiate commercial contracts, including sales agreements, maintenance service agreements, purchase agreements, lease agreements, non-disclosure agreements, software licensing agreements, technical publication licensing agreements, and contract amendments.
• Support contract negotiations with airline operators, aircraft manufacturers, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers, and aviation service providers.
• Assist procurement teams with supplier and subcontractor negotiations.
• Collaborate with sales, account management, and finance teams to develop commercially viable agreements that balance customer requirements, profitability, and contractual risks.

2. Risk Management and Compliance

• Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks related to liability, warranties, intellectual property, export controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, industry regulations, and internal policies.
• Support compliance with relevant aviation standards and regulations, including FAA, EASA, and ICAO requirements, where applicable.
• Ensure appropriate flow-down and flow-up of contractual terms and conditions.
• Assist with compliance matters involving anti-bribery requirements, sanctions screening, and other regulatory obligations.

3. Customer and Stakeholder Management

• Serve as a key point of contact for customers during contract discussions and negotiations.
• Clarify contractual, commercial, technical, and legal requirements.
• Support bid and account management teams with RFP and RFQ responses, contractual reviews, and risk assessments.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to resolve contractual issues and support customer satisfaction.

4. Contract Lifecycle Management

• Maintain and organize contract repositories and electronic records.
• Track agreements, amendments, renewals, and other contractual documentation.
• Ensure contract records are accurate, current, and readily accessible.
• Support improvements to contract management processes and documentation practices.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with sales, procurement, finance, bid management, and export control teams to address complex contractual matters.
• Align contractual terms with business objectives, customer expectations, and market requirements.
• Support contract management process improvements and transformation initiatives.
• Assist with emerging business requirements related to digital transformation, sustainability, and cybersecurity, where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Juris Doctor (JD), an equivalent foreign law degree, a master's degree, or an MBA.
• At least 3 years of experience in contract management.
• Experience in contract drafting, review, negotiation, and administration.
• Knowledge of contract law, compliance, applicable standards, and regulations.
• Experience identifying and managing contractual risks and opportunities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple time-sensitive projects.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of financial and business principles relevant to contract management.
• Knowledge of pre-contract administration, claims management, project bidding, sourcing, and subcontracting processes.
• Ability to adapt to change and support contract management transformation initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the aviation, aerospace, or a related industry.
• Familiarity with aviation terminology and regulatory requirements.
• Experience working with commercial, procurement, or U.S. government contracts.
• Knowledge of intellectual property, product strategy, and export control requirements.
• Additional language skills, particularly French or Spanish, are a plus.

Interview Process

• Initial interview will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams.
• An onsite interview may also be required.

Additional Information

• This is a 12-month contract position with a strong possibility of extension.
• Conversion to a permanent position may be possible; however, no timeline is guaranteed.
• The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days onsite and two days remote per week.
