About the Position

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-hour shifts, expected 36 hours/week | Day/Night Rotation | Start times of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM | Every other weekend | Every other holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide in-house emergency nursing services to both full-term and premature infants in the NICU
• Deliver complex medical and surgical nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants
• Ensure competent, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care for patients and their families
• Perform thorough patient assessments and apply strong clinical and organizational skills in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Utilize charge capabilities and computer systems to support unit operations and documentation
• Perform mathematical computations required to carry out treatment protocols

Required Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU RN experience required
• Current Massachusetts RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Strong assessment, clinical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills in English
• Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be considered at a local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree
• Experience caring for neonates requiring complex surgical interventions
• Familiarity with charge nurse responsibilities in a NICU setting
