You'll direct operations teams across multiple shifts, coordinate preventive maintenance programs, and oversee compliance with OSHA and client safety standards. This position requires technical expertise across building systems combined with strong people management capabilities. You'll work collaboratively to ensure 24/7 operational excellence, managing everything from critical environment protocols to contractor relationships, while maintaining budgets and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance both safety and client satisfaction.Your day-to-day tasks will include:Managing daily work assignments and coordinating facilities contracted services, including scheduling activities with engineering teams, clients, and service providers for Fire Life Safety, HVAC, Elevators, and Electrical systemsEstablishing and managing employee work schedules across multiple and rotating shifts, making assignments, procuring materials, and documenting work progress and resultsConducting employee reviews and performance management while orienting, training, and developing team members through established standards and objectivesProviding on-call support and emergency response, including writing and submitting Critical Environment Work Authorization documentation for work involving critical systemsPerforming field checks and oversight activities to ensure compliance with service intervals required by contracts, including scheduling and supervising contractorsDeveloping material and labor cost estimates for corrective/maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance activities, and construction projects while helping establish and maintain capital, repair, and maintenance budgetsInteracting with customer representatives regarding engineering compliance requirements and coordinating work activities to communicate project purpose, duration, potential disruptions, and other relevant conditionsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:This job requires working in a professional office settingMay be required to lift up to 50 poundsMay be working indoors and outdoors in a range of temperatures that may vary from hot to coldBending, lifting, twisting and standing for long hours may be requiredThe typical work environment involves potentially high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations that require adherence to prescribed safety policies, procedures and precautionsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentUniversal CFC LicenseMinimum of 5 years of experience in Facility/Plant Engineering MaintenanceExposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operationKnowledge of all current facility code requirements and standardsGood interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formatsProficiency in basic computer application software such as MS Office, Lotus and EmailPreferred Qualifications:Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVACNAPE or trade school certificationsExperience managing operations teams across multiple shiftsFamiliarity with critical environments management protocolsExperience with Critical Environment Work Authorization documentationUnderstanding of building logs and documentation practicesBackground in budget development and cost control for facility operationsThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
