About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years experience License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Certification Must-Have: Previous successful travel nursing assignment 30 months RN or LPN nursing experience Ability to care for 6 telemetry patients or post cardiac procedures, including PCI, PPM, ICD, or Ablations Proficient in reading telemetry strips Time management skills for care planning and collaboration Description: Traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. Travelers are expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. Unit has 29 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. Staffing includes RNs with advanced equipment available, such as mobile computer workstations and IV pumps. Documentation system is Meditech. Scheduling requires 3 shifts per week, including every other weekend. Travelers may be floated to different units as needed. Bedside shift report is the method for patient handoff. AIDET and RN/MD rounding are part of the patient experience approach. Advanced skills required include phlebotomy and respiratory treatments outside of the ICU. Foley catheter care and maintenance are expected, following nurse-driven protocols for removal. Management of cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Amio, Nitro, and Dobutamine is required.
