About the Position

Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NIH Stroke Scale Certification Must-Have: - One previous successful travel nursing assignment - 30 months of RN or LPN nursing experience - Ability to care for 6 telemetry patients/post cardiac procedures, including PCI, PPM, ICD, or ablations - Proficient in reading telemetry strips - Strong time management skills for planning care every shift - Collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments - Discharge planning and patient education experience Description: Traveler will be scheduled according to facility policy. The traveler is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees. Unit consists of 29 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6. RNs will staff the unit. Type of equipment includes mobile phones for each care team member and mobile computer workstations on wheels. Documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling requires 3-12 hour shifts per week, including every other weekend. Travelers may be the first to float and could be sent to other areas as needed. Patient experience is emphasized through bedside shift reports and AIDET practices. Nurses administer breathing treatments outside of ICU and provide Foley catheter care in accordance with nurse-driven protocols. Management of cardiac drips includes Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, and Dobutamine. Nurses will perform various procedures relevant to the unit.
