Career Prep Instructor (Part-Time)Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Career Prep Instructor for our San Antonio campus. In this role, you will guide entry-level students through essential foundational coursework across our healthcare programs. No teaching license or prior teaching experience required —PMI provides comprehensive training on how to teach these courses! If you have hands-on experience in healthcare, medical terminology, or clinical care, this is your opportunity to transition your knowledge into a rewarding educational role.You will instruct foundational courses designed to prepare students for academic and clinical success:Study SkillsAnatomy, Physiology, and TerminologyComputer BasicsMath FundamentalsCPR and First AidKey responsibilities include:Instruction & Course Delivery: Design and deliver lesson plans in foundation subjects using varied teaching techniques that appeal to different learning styles.Objective Planning: Plan instruction to achieve specific learning objectives based on student needs and established curriculum standards.Feedback & Grading: Evaluate and grade students' classwork, assignments, and practical tests within 72 hours.Student Mentorship & Advising: Maintain scheduled face-to-face office hours to advise, assist, and remediate students. Discuss academic or behavioral issues with students as they arise and alert campus leadership (Assistant Dean of Faculty/Student Services Coordinator). May participate in the supervision of students' externship experiences as assigned.Departmental & Administrative Support: Complete required student records, attendance tracking, incident reports, and early alert logs. Arrange and coordinate guest speakers, community service field trips, and visits to local healthcare facilities. Participate in faculty meetings, advisory board meetings, in-service workshops, and campus graduations.Minimum requirements include:Education & Experience: Graduation from an accredited program recognized by USDE or CHEA in the subject field AND three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience in the subject area. OR A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for non-accredited program graduates.Core Subject Knowledge: Documented knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology through post-secondary education or practical job experience.Equivalent Qualification: Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that satisfies the minimum requirements.Technical & Soft Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.Preferred qualifications include:Three (3) years of prior teaching experience in the subject field.Required Licenses or Certifications: None (Teaching license is NOT required).Compensation & Part-Time Benefits:Hiring Range: $24.96 to $29.96 per hour.Schedule: Part-Time Days (26 Hours per Week)Training & Growth: Comprehensive instructional training provided by PMI.Benefits: Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and Employee Discount Programs.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
