Position Summary The Vice President of Wealth Management provides strategic leadership for the credit union’s financial planning, protection, and retirement programs. This role is responsible for developing and executing the program strategy and ensuring high-quality advisory services that meet members’ financial needs. VP oversees financial advisors to drive growth and productivity initiatives, while promoting collaboration and a strong member-focused culture. They also monitor key performance metrics and ensure program profitability. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Willingness and ability to exhibit Wellby Core Values every day. Strategic Leadership Planning Provide strategic leadership for the wealth management program, ensuring alignment with the credit union’s mission, purpose, and member needs. Develop and refine the strategic vision and roadmap for the wealth management program, translating strategy into actionable business cases and initiatives. Establishes sales goals and strategies and assesses performance against set goals. Develop systems and tools to monitor actual results against goals. Lead the financial strategy, collaborating with the marketing team and serving as the SME on go-to strategies and acquisition campaigns, to maximize growth opportunities and ROI. Strategically engage with Channel Leadership to develop and execute delivery (branch, ebranch, contact center) partnerships and cross-channel (Business Development & Human Resources) team activities. Serve as the primary partner with LPL brokerage ensuring SLA’s and deliverables are met and that business plans are executed. Partner with technology and business teams to ensure platforms, systems, and tools are optimized for current needs and future enhancements. Serve as mentor and co-lead member engagements that are highly complex, or unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas, delivering long-term solutions. Coaching and People Leadership Recruit, develop, and mentor Financial Advisors to expand program capacity, elevate advisor performance, and ensure succession planning. Coach Financial Advisors on the sales engagement process, including pre-appointments, during and post-appointments. Ensuring both technical and soft skills are supported and impacted. Build a team of Financial Advisors that specialize in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for high-net-worth individuals and families. Influence advisor behavior and business outcomes. Compliance & Risk Management Oversee and enforce compliance with regulatory and suitability standards, ensuring all advice and recommendations meet established requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Strategy and Technology offices, to support program initiatives and ensure seamless service delivery. Foster a culture of member-centric service, ensuring personalized financial solutions. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Knowledge of Wellby’s organizational functions and general operating policies and procedures. Knowledge of secretarial practices and procedures, business English, spelling, and punctuation. Knowledge of personal computers, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and other software’s. Knowledge of financial markets and investment strategies. Knowledge of financial planning software and CRM systems Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FINRA, SEC, CFP Board, etc.) and compliance standards Knowledge of a wide array of brokerage/banking products and services Knowledge of strategic planning, business development, and performance management practices. Knowledge of equities, fixed income, mutual funds, ETFs, alternatives, private markets, and structured products. Skilled in operating computer equipment and general office machines such as personal computers, copiers, projection equipment, audio/video, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications, and adding machines. Skilled in negotiation and persuasion skills when working with clients, beneficiaries, or partners. Skilled in analytics to evaluate financial data and design complex financial plans Skilled in fee-based Investment Advisory accounts including wrap accounts, SMA’s, professionally managed solutions, mutual funds, ETF’s, UIT’s and structured investment products preferred Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to efficiently understand and follow oral and written instructions, perform routine duties without close supervision, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members. Ability to coordinate several concurrent activities simultaneously. Ability to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and member-first service. Ability to manage risk effectively while driving profitability and operational efficiency. Ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound strategic decisions Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of financial professionals Ability to exercise independent judgment. Supervisory Responsibilities Team member has supervisory responsibilities. Complexity & Scope of Work The team member performs routine and generally related tasks without supervisory direction. Tasks may occasionally have to be coordinated, integrated, and/or prioritized. The team member’s work is reviewed periodically for accuracy, completion, and compliance with Wellby’s policies and procedures. The team member will ensure policies, procedures, and programs are consistently administered, aligned with organizational goals, and compliant with professional standards. The team member uses independent judgment in making decisions. Courses of action are determined by established procedures and/or the Chief Experience Officer. Physical Demands & Work Environment The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here represent those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Work involves the typical risks and discomforts associated with an office environment, but is usually in an area that is adequately cooled, heated, lighted, and ventilated. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, management, or related field required. Minimum ten (10) - twelve (12) years of experience in financial services, wealth management, or customer service experience required. Minimum five (5) years of leadership in financial services, wealth management, or a similar area required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated qualifications.
