Sr Manager, Market Intelligence

Job Summary The Senior Manager, Market Intelligence leads the planning, design, prioritization, and execution of strategic, brand, customer, and product-level market research initiatives across U.S. commercial businesses, including Pharmaceuticals, IV Therapy, BioPharma, MedTech/Blood Collection/TCT, Nutrition, and Corporate Communications. The role collaborates consultatively with cross‑functional teams to define challenges, identify options, and deliver actionable insights that shape marketing strategies and customer satisfaction. This hybrid position requires on‑site presence in the Lake Zurich, Illinois office three days per week. Responsibilities Serve as the subject‑matter expert in primary and secondary market research methodologies and lead research approaches supporting key business decisions. Identify, prioritize, and plan market research initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and efficient resource allocation. Lead complex research projects involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams, translating insights into actionable recommendations and clear, impactful reporting. Develop comprehensive plans, budgets, and resource allocations to deliver insights on time and within budget. Maintain a searchable business‑facing market research report archive and full project files to meet audit, conduct, and regulatory requirements. Foster collaboration within project teams, mentoring new members as needed. Act as the departmental SME on procurement and regulatory processes, ensuring compliance with company procedures and SOPs. Contribute customer and market insights to the annual Situational Analysis for strategic planning. Identify and evaluate new market research firms, data sources, tools, and analytics, and collaborate with procurement on annual MSA renewal decisions. Analyze and distill complex data to inform decisions and communicate findings to U.S. Marketing Leadership and Business Units. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. Create and maintain a comprehensive insights information‑sharing framework and project archive. Complete all required training and maintain compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems. Participate in reasonable work activities as assigned by management and respond to cross‑functional collaboration needs. Requirements Bachelor’s degree (Graduate degree preferred; PharmD preferred). 10+ years of related experience in the U.S. healthcare industry, with at least 2 years in U.S. market research. Experience within U.S. pharmaceuticals, nutrition, hospital business, or MedTech. Track record of managing research or market intelligence projects, including multiple large‑scale initiatives. Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing secondary data sources for market research. Superior interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to manage cross‑functional teams. Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail. Capability to drive results in a matrix organization and influence stakeholders without direct authority. Strong achievement orientation, creative problem‑solving, and innovative mindset. Solid project management and time‑management skills to handle multiple complex projects. Capacity to make key decisions with limited managerial oversight. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to manage all research and intelligence activities in compliance with federal, state, industry, and company guidelines. Demonstrated record of strategic impact in an insights, product marketing, or strategic planning role. Experience in insights analysis, synthesis, and communication using primary and secondary sources. Strong leadership and collaboration skills across functions and business units. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation capabilities. Creative problem‑solving skills and aptitude for forecasting and troubleshooting operational risks. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound business judgment. Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time, including occasional overnight travel. Ability to work flexible hours and weekends to meet business needs. Benefits Competitive base salary of $135,000 to $150,000 per year, with a bonus plan target of 14% of base salary.
