Instructional Aide

Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities. Work under supervision of certified teacher in a Schoolwide Title I campus.

Instructional Support

1. Confers with and assists the teacher in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, and arranging materials for the day's activities.

1. Operates and cares for classroom and office equipment used for instructional purposes, which may include the computer and other digital devices.

1. Provides orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.

1. Assists the teacher in devising special strategies to differentiate instruction for individual students based on their needs, interests and abilities.

1. Administers tests that are required for certain identified students.

Assists in grading written work done by students when requested by the teacher.

Student Management

1. Supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom.

1. Works with individual students, small group or large group activities, to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.

Other

1. Participates in activities that contribute to job assignment.

1. Participates in in-service training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as needed.

1. Performs related duties as assigned.

1. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully certified teachers.

1. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, and administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel
