Step into a vital support role working alongside students and educators as an ASL Paraprofessional in a dynamic school environment near Cibolo, TX. This contract position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with hearing loss, supporting their communication and educational success. You’ll collaborate with dedicated teaching teams and work primarily with elementary to high school students requiring American Sign Language (ASL) services.

The assignment spans the academic year, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week and a focus on two closely located campuses. Your placement will depend on student needs and may primarily serve Mission Academy.

Qualifications:

• One of the following is required:• Associate’s degree or higher• At least 48 college semester hours recognized by the Texas Education Agency (or equivalent regional agency), plus completion of paraeducator coursework (Stedi.org) with a passing score of 70% or above• Experience working with pediatric or school-aged children with hearing loss
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong proficiency in ASL
• Must meet time-sensitive credentialing, including fingerprinting and background checks

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct ASL interpretation and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
• Foster an inclusive and accessible learning environment
• Collaborate with the educational team to tailor support to individual student needs
• Travel between two campuses as needed (schools are within a short drive of each other)
