Area Controls Manager

Area Controls Manager Location: Ft. Worth, Texas – On‑Site (5 days a week). Position Summary: Lead the Controls/Building Automation team, drive revenue and profitability, manage project delivery, and oversee staff performance. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating employees, as well as ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining safety standards. Key Responsibilities Drive revenue and profitability while meeting Annual Operating Plan priorities. Monitor and steer the Area’s project portfolio for timely and successful delivery. Manage associate performance by tracking effectiveness and efficiency against objectives. Support the Regional Contracting Operations Leader in achieving business results. Collaborate with other Business Streams and functional leaders for inter‑departmental synergy. Directly supervise assigned controls fulfillment personnel. Identify project needs, assign personnel, and develop detailed project plans. Act as the primary interface among customers, vendors, sub‑contractors, and internal teams. Maintain customer satisfaction by addressing concerns, instituting corrective actions, and communicating with stakeholders. Maintain high employee engagement through training, career development, and retention strategies. Review and validate contracts and estimates, performing risk analysis and creating risk plans. Confirm financial and performance feasibility by analyzing customer and project data. Lead local operations safety initiatives, establishing a culture that prioritizes safety. Provide flexibility to work outside normal hours as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business. 10+ years of experience in building automation/controls, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role. Advanced business and financial acumen. Working knowledge of industrial and commercial HVAC systems and building automation systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with construction processes related to building automation and mechanical/HVAC projects. Compensation Annual Base Salary Range: $98,200.00 – $177,870.00. Salary incentive available. Benefits Health insurance and holistic wellness programs from day one.
