The RoleAs a Senior Associate, Real Estate you will play a key role in making and managing investments. You will independently lead workstreams including fundamental investment research, identifying value creation opportunities, developing recommendations, executing transactions, and monitoring and managing portfolio investments. You will have responsibility for managing relationships with internal and external Investments partners.The TeamAccountabilitiesPlay an important role in the research, analysis and evaluation of a variety of investment opportunities including managing the overall evaluation processParticipate in meetings with company management teams, industry experts and analystsBuild working relationships with colleagues and leaders across the firm, alongside company management teams and investment partnersPerform due diligence on opportunities including past and projected financial performance, quality of management teams, investment merits and risks, regulatory environment, industry dynamics and other relevant factorsLead development of sophisticated dynamic financial models to analyze investment opportunities (including testing assumptions and sensitivities)Oversee preparation of analytical investment reviews and recommendations, including industry overviews, written investment rationales and due diligence reviewsAssist in presenting investment recommendations to the Investment Committee and Board, as requiredAssist in the development, implementation and monitoring of existing portfoliosUpdate financial models and other analytical tools to support the idea generation process and rational behind changes in investment viewManage and guide the work of junior team members and assist departmental initiatives, processes and meetingsQualifications Undergraduate degree Business, Finance, Economics or relevant fieldAn advanced degree or certification (CFA) is an asset5-7 years of relevant work experienceStrong research, analytical, financial modeling, valuation, problem solving skills and ability to think creativelyExperience working in deal environments including participation in the diligence and structuring processes related to acquisitions, financing transactions or investments, and/or asset management activities.Experience managing successful negotiations with multiple stakeholders and executing a wide range of agreementsAdvanced computer/technical skills – MS Excel, MS PowerPointSolid verbal and written communication skillsThis information for those living or expecting to live in New York City. The salary range for this position is: USD $185,000 - $260,000US state/city legislation requires CPP investments to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The base salary range shown here is a reasonable expectation for the posted role and is part of a competitive total rewards package which includes comprehensive benefits, a performance-based incentive plan, a 401 (k) plan and paid time off.
