Associate Flight Test Engineer, Production

Flight Test EngineerSummary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function)Perform ground and flight ATPs. Evaluate and suggest trouble shooting to resolve avionic and mechanical issues. Perform preflight, post flight, and post maintenance inspections. Perform aircraft adjustments. Enter flight records and flight hours on aircraft logbook. Responsible for flight acceptance of the aircraft. Work with engineering, management, and QC. Interact with customers to include acceptance flights and for technical explanations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Specifically describe the essential duties and responsibilities in order of estimated percentage of time that is spent on each)Duties and Responsibilities:40% Perform flight and ground ATPs.15% Evaluate and interpret flight data.5% Maintain flight records and documents.5% Coordinate flight activities with pilots and operations teams.15% Perform RTB adjustments.10% Aircraft flight acceptance with customers.5% Work with engineering on issues and implementing ATPs.5% Perform other duties and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned.Total: 100%Qualifications for Position:A. EducationMechanic, avionic, or aircrew experience in military or equivalent. A&P license desirable.B. ExperienceMinimum five years helicopter experience, ten years aviation preferred. Flight experience preferred. Flight line troubleshooting preferred.C. Competencies & Attributes1. Strong understanding of aviation technology, particularly avionics.2. Ability to perform rotor and engine adjustments.3. Strong written and oral communication skills.4. Ability to fly in aircraft as part of a flight crew with multiple groups.5. Ability to learn multiple airframes and perform testing under the pressure of production schedules.6. Abilities to learn and develop new procedures in coordination with engineering.7. Ability to work overtime to include weekends both scheduled and unscheduled.D. Licensure/Certification* Ability to pass and maintain a class 2 or 3 FAA flight physical.* Ability to pass water survival training.* Ability to pass required training courses and pass testing.
