Brightside Academy is looking for a skilled, dependable Maintenance Technician to help keep our centers safe, functional, and welcoming for children, families, and team members.

• High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license

• At least 5 years of building or grounds maintenance experience

• HVAC experience required

• Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs

• Strong problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills

• Able to work independently in a fast-paced child care environment

• Trade certifications preferred

• Ability to use hand tools and provide basic personal tools

• Perform routine facility and grounds maintenance across assigned centers

• Complete light carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, and electrical repairs

• Inspect and repair toilets, urinals, flush valves, drains, and hot water heaters

• Troubleshoot HVAC systems, including filters, belts, capacitors, and basic repairs

• Replace light switches, receptacles, ballasts, bulbs, and ceiling tiles

• Complete preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and vehicles

• Use ladders, drain snakes, hand tools, and maintenance equipment safely

• Respond to electronic work orders and report hazardous building conditions

• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment

• Assist with janitorial tasks, grounds upkeep, snow removal, and salting walkways

• Follow OSHA, Brightside, and state/federal safety requirements
