Their services include Business, Individual, State & Local tax, R&D Tax Credit, as well as International and Private Client services. This Tax Supervisor role will be based out of our Chicago, IL office . You'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion, to include supervision/mentoring of staff and building/maintaining relationships with clients. Responsibilities Prepare complex C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returns Prepare high net worth individual returns Review mid-level complexity C corp., S corp. and partnership income tax returns Review mid-level complexity individual returns Research and draft memorandum involving complex tax matters Identify tax planning opportunities Handle and resolve tax controversies Train and supervise staff accountants Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification with parts passed Masters of Science in Taxation is preferred but not required At least 4 years of public accounting experience Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skills Ability to travel as needed Compensation and Benefits The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 – $135,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
