Since 1976, we've been dedicated to meeting people where they are - providing person-centered supports that allow individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or complex medical needs to live as independently as possible.Our team is united by a shared commitment to making a real difference, and we encourage you to embrace this opportunity to impact someone's life!The Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver Float provides direct care for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) within residential group homes in Eugene/Springfield.This is a full time, permanent position. Schedule for shifts will change based on needs of programs, however schedules are given two weeks in advance (no oncall responsibilities). Must be able to work swing/overnight shifts.This position requires a dependable candidate who is flexible in their schedule, works well independently, and has exceptional communication and decision-making skills. Float DSPs are adaptable and will have the necessary skill set to be able to work at multiple homes.What You Get to Do:Enrich and support the lives of our residents in the supported living program while maintaining a safe and healthy environmentProvide companionship and personalized care with respect and dignity while encouraging independence and self-care.Assist patients with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.Prepare meals and snacks.Perform housekeeping and laundry dutiesProvide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.Assist with transportation needs for community outings, appointments, and errandsImplement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.Other duties as assignedWhat Makes You a Great Fit:1+ years of DSP/Caregiving experience is required. Experience in residential setting and with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.Must have valid driver's license & vehicle to travel between programs and provide transportation to clientsMust be able to work a flexible schedule (open availability and weekends is required)Must be able to work either swing/overnight shift schedule.Must be able and willing to learn different supports, from medical to behavioralMust be at least 18 years oldMust be able to provide referencesAble to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and trainingHave a passion to help others through person-centered carePeople-oriented and have a team approachDependable, adaptable, and flexibleGood communication is key in this role.
