About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1.5 years of ICU experience required. Preferably 1.5 years of MICU experience. If less than 2 years, Level I experience is required. Experience in a 20+ bed ICU is mandatory. License: Pending license accepted. Certifications: ACLS required. BLS required. Must-Have: Candidate must pass an EKG exam. Competence in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required. Experience with pressor support, ETT, tracheostomy care, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and wound care required. Experience with sterile techniques such as line insertion and paracentesis is required. Preferred skills include CRRT experience, Swan-Ganz monitoring, inhaled and IV Flolan, CVVHD, proning, and MTP-Level 1 rapid transfuser. Description: The role requires providing care in a critical care setting. The nurse will manage patients with complex medical needs. Patient ratios are 1:2 in the ICU. The position requires floating within the ICU service line. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The candidate must demonstrate competency in caring for patients on CRRT via NxStage. The ideal candidate will possess skills in arterial line management, central line care, and care of ventilated patients. Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) and management of multisystem organ dysfunction is required. Candidates should have experience managing hemodynamic monitoring and emergency medications. Infection prevention practices must be observed consistently. Additional competencies in procedural sedation administration, phlebotomy, and ventilator management are essential.
