Controller Our client, a manufacturing and industrial services company, is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting and finance operations. Location: This role is on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area. Job Description: This highly visible leadership role will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and day-to-day accounting activities while partnering closely with executive leadership to support long-term growth and financial performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to build processes, develop teams, and provide strategic financial insight. Responsibilities: Lead daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, including budget-to-actual variance analysis Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and overall financial operations Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and relationships with outside accounting and tax advisors Maintain accounting systems and identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and system enhancements Support strategic planning activities by providing financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting and regulatory requirements Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff while promoting accountability and high performance across the finance organization Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including leadership responsibility Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls Experience managing audits, tax compliance activities, cash management, and accounting operations Proven leadership, communication, organizational, and process-improvement skills within a fast-paced operational environment Compensation: Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: The individual’s skill sets, experience, and training; Licensure and certifications; Office location and other geographic considerations; Other business and organizational needs.
