Job Duties and Responsibilities Business Development Identify sales opportunities, deepen existing relationships, and grow Salem Five’s market share in the communities it serves. Collaborate with branch management and internal partners to uncover needs and refer cross-sell opportunities for business loans, merchant services, insurance, and investment services. Engage in defined sales activities including uncovering customer needs, offering solutions, closing business, onboarding, follow-up, outbound calling, and recording each point of contact in the bank’s system of record. Participate in team meetings, contribute to branch sales goals, engage in divisional campaigns, and celebrate team successes. Customer Experience Deliver an exceptional customer experience by making a personal connection, uncovering financial needs through meaningful discussion, recommending products and services based on knowledge of offerings, and providing financial solutions that meet customer needs. Business Acumen and Technical Knowledge Understand banking operations, including income/expense streams and the portfolio of products and services. Quickly learn all functionalities and benefits of the Bank’s products and services. Demonstrate the ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues; proficient with Salem Five’s digital technology offerings. Proficient with mobile devices, texting, email, and application management; proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); proficient using the Internet to locate information; eager to embrace new technologies. Banking Operations Learn and follow branch operations policies and procedures (including check cashing, deposits, settlement, account opening, debit card issuance, branch opening/closing, audit and compliance requirements, vault and ATM management). Maintain universal branch banking skills, performing both traditional sales and teller duties as needed. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years’ experience in a retail or banking environment required; supervisory experience preferred. May be designated as a key-holder and serve as part of the branch’s management team, including opening/closing duties. In the absence of a Manager or Assistant Manager, acts as manager on duty, making policy decisions as necessary. Participates in interviewing, hiring, and developing junior branch staff, and serves as a trainer and coach. Proven success in delivering a superior customer-centric experience. Salem Five requires each Universal Banker to be federally registered through the National Mortgage Licensing System and for individual records to be in good standing. Individual NMLS IDs renew annually. Salary Range $45,000 - $60,000 plus incentives. The stated pay range represents the range we reasonably believe we may pay at posting. The actual pay may be higher or lower based on factors such as education, experience, certifications, skills, and performance. This range may be modified in the future.
