The St. Louis County Counselor's Office has an opportunity for an experienced Secretary to provide high-level administrative support to attorneys and office staff. This role ensures efficient day to day operations of the office. This position interacts with attorneys, staff, other county departments, court staff, external agencies, and the public. Key Responsibilities Prepare memos, correspondence, forms, charts, tables and technical and/or confidential reports and summaries. Working with the municipal court case management system. Receive and screen incoming calls, answer and process inquiries or refer calls to appropriate individual. Greet visitors, ascertain nature of business, answer inquiries or refer visitors to appropriate person. Schedule, coordinate and confirm appointments, services and meetings. Receive, prioritize and distribute Office mail. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications Equivalent to three years of experience in a general office environment preferred. Responses that qualified candidates provide to the application questions will count as 100% of their final evaluation score. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. The five highest-ranking candidates will be referred to the Department Director/Appointing Authority for final selection. Pre-Employment Screening: Candidates extended a conditional offer must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings. These screenings include a drug test administered at no cost to the applicant by a certified laboratory and a background check evaluating the recency and relevance of the candidate’s history to the position. Candidates must complete the drug test within 48 hours of receiving a conditional offer; failure to do so may result in withdrawal of the offer.
