Position Overview

The Department is seeking an experienced Network Architect to provide enterprise network architecture, engineering, implementation, troubleshooting, security, and operational support. The selected consultant will function as an integrated member of the Infrastructure & Operations team, providing technical leadership for network modernization, resiliency, security, cloud connectivity, and enterprise collaboration solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network architecture and infrastructure.
• Support LAN, WAN, WLAN, cloud, and hybrid networking environments.
• Provide network engineering, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Design and implement network resiliency, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Support network security, firewall policies, ACLs, proxy services, and email gateway solutions.
• Architect and support Cisco Collaboration solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations.
• Create and maintain network standards, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Support infrastructure projects, deployments, upgrades, and migrations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Provide mentoring and technical knowledge transfer.
• Participate in off-hours support, maintenance windows, and critical implementations as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Enterprise IT Infrastructure Support experience.
• Minimum 5 years of Network Architecture, Engineering, and Design experience.
• Experience with: 
  • LAN/WAN/WLAN Design & Support
  • Cisco and Juniper Networking
  • F5 and/or Kemp Load Balancers
  • Storage Area Networks (SAN)
  • Palo Alto NGFW
  • Cisco IronPort
  • ACL, Firewall, and Proxy Policy Management
  • SIP, PRI, and POTS Technologies
  • Cloud Networking and Hybrid Connectivity
• Experience implementing and supporting: 
  • Cisco UCM
  • Cisco UCCX
  • Cisco Unity Connection
• Experience designing: 
  • Disaster Recovery (DR)
  • High Availability (HA)
  • Network Resiliency
• Experience with network monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Network automation and scripting.
• Enterprise cloud networking (Azure, AWS).
• Large-scale network modernization initiatives.
• Data center network architecture.
• Government or highly regulated environment experience.
