Shipping and Receiving ClerkReporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing shipment documents for material handlers, checking in drivers at their arrival time, creating and confirming success of picks/shipments/receives in Business Central Inventory system, communication of Shipping Department with Planning and Logistics Departments and overall support of the Warehouse.Location(s): South Terminal Status: Full-timePrincipal Accountabilities (Summary):Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy; Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes; Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders to route materials; Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter; Minimal to no quality errors and/or mis-shipments; Must have intermediate computer skills, intermediate to master use of RF scanners, and experience in Business Central; Able to prepare paperwork; Able to accurately and effectively create picks/register/post/confirm inventory using Business Central software; Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with little guidance required; Adhere to all Environmental, Health, Safety, Security Requirements covered under Local State and Federal Regulations; Follow all RC14001 guiding principles, policies, procedures and other requirements; Maintain Hazardous waste in accordance to all Local, State and Federal Regulations; Support efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care 14001 (RC14001)/Environment, Health, Safety, & Sustainability (EHS&S) management system; Adhere to all DOT, IATA and IMDG hazardous materials or dangerous goods regulations; Other duties as requested.Position Requirements:Education, Credentials, Licenses:A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent requiredPosition-specific vocational education/experience, training, or certification is preferredValid stand-up and sit-down forklift certification preferred; in house training will be provided prior to start.Kind & Length of Experience:1 year of Shipping & Receiving experience required.1 year of administrative experience required.1 year of stand-up forklift experience is required.Excellent organizational skills and able to handle multiple priorities.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Strong experience with warehouse inventory systems and Microsoft Office Products.Must have intermediate computer skills, intermediate to master use of RF scanners, and experience in Business Central.Essential Functions:Ability to stand/sit for prolonged periods of timeFrequently required to provide clear written and verbal communication via phone/email/in personWear personal safety equipment as requiredUtilize cognitive abilities to effectively communicate with internal customers to understand requestsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perceptionRegularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controlsFrequently stand, walk, squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, bend or twist the neck and trunk.Frequent use of a Computer and/or an RF Scanner.Customer Service, Teamwork & Code of Conduct:Maintain a safe, legal, and environmentally protective operation;Listen to our customers, suppliers, and employees;Respond quickly to customer concerns;Follow set guidelines for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality, and food safety requirements;Maintain training on applicable procedures in quality, GMP, and food safety;Report any food safety, security, and / or quality issues to management or the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) team to initiate action;Provide flexible and innovative strategies to support new business opportunities;Be cost effective in the utilization of our resources, thereby contributing to the profitability of Peter Cremer North America, LP and our customers;Strive for continued improvement;Willing and eagerness to learn;Maintain positive "Can Do" attitude.Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 PM- flexibility to work OT as needed
