Registered Nurse Residential Living

Overview This is a full-time RN position in the Residential Living Unit at Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City, MT. Shifts include day and night 12-hour blocks (6:00 am–6:30 pm, with self-scheduling and weekend rotation). The unit is a 53-bed facility with staffing that includes RNs, CNAs, bath aides, activities coordinator, ward clerks, restoration aides, and a social worker. The workplace emphasizes compassionate care and teamwork. Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care as a professional caregiver using the nursing process, technology, and evidence-based practice. Identify and document resident/family learning needs; provide education in collaboration with the resident, family, and interdisciplinary team. Coordinate or delegate discharge activities, including validating transfer/discharge documents, medication instructions, activity planning, wound care, and follow-up appointments. Document resident/family responses to education and maintain knowledge of CMS regulations to support compliant documentation. Maintain knowledge of Medicare skilled and MDS criteria to support care needs and reflect resident status. Incorporate resident needs and preferences into organized, efficient team-delivered care; assign daily cares and delegate tasks appropriately. Supervise, coach, counsel, and evaluate performance of assigned CNAs; demonstrate nursing competency in medication administration and IVs per scope of practice and policy. Document nursing interventions, resident responses, and outcomes; set priorities and review daily care plans with resident/family and other healthcare disciplines. Communicate with physicians to coordinate medical and nursing care plans; communicate compassionately and effectively. Qualifications ASN or BSN from an accredited program; BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. An RN with an ADN must complete a BSN within four years of hire unless the RN has at least 15 years of continuous RN experience in an acute care setting. Current Montana RN license. Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association. Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required for identified positions. Work Environment & Schedule Location: Holy Rosary Hospital, Miles City, Montana. Scheduled weekly hours: 36.
