Parts SpecialistThe Parts Specialist position at the City of Tucson's General Services Department coordinates the acquisition and distribution of automotive and heavy truck parts, materials, and services.Work is performed under the supervision of the Stores Superintendent. This position does not supervise.Duties and responsibilities include:Purchasing, receiving, and distributing products through Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems and adhering to department reporting protocols for estimates, billing, and documentation purposes.Implementing stock rotation strategies to prevent item expiration and deterioration.Conducting daily inventory audits and ensuring inventory items are updated with accurate descriptions, part numbers, and pricing.Receiving stock and non-stock special-order parts and supplies, utilizing a forklift and other applicable equipment as required to load or unload items.Distributing parts and supplies to internal customers and providing emergency delivery service as requested.Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers and vendors when receiving, ordering, and distributing parts and supplies.Reconciling procurement card invoice purchases, entering labor charges, and other related data in relevant data systems.Maintaining the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of assigned vehicles, keeping workspaces organized, and inspecting the condition of tool inventory.Performing all other duties and tasks as assigned.Working conditions may require early morning, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Often works under indoor and outdoor conditions with exposure to physical, ergonomic, or hazardous environments.Minimum QualificationsPreferred qualifications include work experience in warehouse operations, quality control, and inventory, shipping and receiving. Experience ordering automotive or heavy-duty parts. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications: P1. Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist. P2.
