Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, Neurosurgery, Inpatient

Sutter West Bay Medical Group (SWBMG) is seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery team in San Francisco, California. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with a nationally recognized team of neurosurgeons and advanced practice clinicians providing high-quality inpatient care, with some outpatient exposure. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient care, including daily rounds, progress notes, and discharge planning. Perform Emergency Department and inpatient consults, admissions, and discharges. Order and interpret laboratory tests and radiologic studies. Field phone calls from acute care floors, inpatient nurses, therapists, and clinical care teams. Facilitate multidisciplinary care coordination and patient/family education. Communicate effectively with outpatient teams to ensure smooth transitions of care. Deliver care in alignment with clinical quality, safety, and experience metrics. Perform procedures within scope of practice as appropriate. Opportunity for first-assisting in the operating room as service needs permit. Collaborate directly with neurosurgeons and other advanced practice clinicians. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Licenses & Certifications: PA-Physician Assistant or NP-Nurse Practitioner. CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA). BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider. Other certifications based on department requirements. Experience: Surgical or neurosurgery experience strongly preferred. Candidates with a passion for surgical care and interest in neuroscience encouraged to apply.
