Facilities Technician

Facilities TechnicianThe Facilities Technician is responsible for evaluating facility issues, scheduling and monitoring subcontractors, and performing general maintenance tasks, such as replacing lightbulbs and making minor plumbing repairs. This role involves responding to facility requests, assisting with office relocations, and installing office fixtures and equipment. Additionally, the Facilities Technician develops preventative maintenance routines, reviews contractor invoices, and ensures facility efficiency and safety.Role DescriptionEvaluate issues and determine the need for subcontractor interventionSchedule, escort, and monitor contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed to specificationsProactively identify and address potential facility issues before they escalateRespond to facilities requests from SHI management and personnel in a timely manner, including during off hoursPerform general maintenance, including replacing lightbulbs and making minor plumbing repairsAssist with office relocations, including departmental and employee movesInstall and maintain office fixtures such as monitors, pictures, whiteboards, and shelvesModify furniture and perform minor repairs on AV equipmentReview and approve contractor/vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with SOW and SHI's purchase ordersDevelop and maintain a consistent preventative maintenance routine to ensure facility efficiency and safetyBehaviors and CompetenciesCommunication: Can communicate simple ideas and information clearly.Initiative: Can demonstrate a willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities when assigned.Teamwork: Can understand the importance of teamwork but may struggle to contribute effectively to team efforts.Resilience: Can demonstrate a willingness to persevere through difficulties when they arise.Professionalism: Can demonstrate a willingness to adhere to workplace norms and expectations.Flexibility: Can adjust to changes in tasks and responsibilities when required.Detail-Oriented: Can demonstrate an ability to follow instructions and complete tasks as assigned.Research: Can demonstrate a willingness to seek out information when required.Skill Level RequirementsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately and efficiently - BasicExperience using Building Management Software (BMS) for HVAC and lighting systems - BasicAbility to research and select vendors based on reputation, cost, and turnaround time - BasicThe ability to effectively utilize applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to enhance productivity and perform various tasks efficiently - BasicFundamental understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems - BasicBasic knowledge of office building systems, including Life Safety, HVAC, Security, Electrical, Plumbing, and Generators - BasicOther RequirementsCompleted High School Diploma requiredExperience in a corporate facilities environment preferredMust have a valid Driver's License and reliable vehicleAbility to work flexible hoursAbility to move or lift up to 50 lbs.The base salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000. The estimated on-target earnings, or OTE, which includes a base salary and bonus/commissions, are $45,000 - $55,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
