In fact, it's exactly what we need. At Careerist , we're building a team of reverse recruiters — recruiters who work for the candidate instead of the employer. Our clients are senior professionals targeting leadership roles (Director, VP, C-suite), and they hire us to run their job search end to end: positioning, sourcing the right opportunities, outreach, applications, interview prep, and offer negotiation. This is recruiting flipped to the other side of the table. The judgment you already have about what makes a leader hireable is the whole job. Compensation — please read carefully This is a commission-only role during the training period. There is no base salary or payment during the training period ; you earn a share of the fee on each successful client outcome. Training is full-time and unpaid. Post your training, we review your performance and hire you full-time . We're upfront about this so you can decide whether the model fits your situation before you apply. How it works Full-time training. We bring you up to speed on the reverse-recruiting playbook — our tools, process, and what works for leadership-level searches. Your recruiting instincts stay; we just point them in a new direction. This phase is full-time and unpaid. Take on, clients. Once trained, you start working with senior clients and earn commission on each successful outcome. Grow with the team. Strong performers can take on more clients and a larger role as Careerist grows. What you'll do Partner one-on-one with senior clients to sharpen their positioning, story, and LinkedIn/CV. Identify and target the right leadership openings across your client's space. Run direct outreach to hiring managers, founders, and your own network on a client's behalf. Coach clients through interviews and support them in negotiating offers. Be the steady, expert hand guiding ambitious people through a high-stakes search. What we're looking for Senior recruiting experience — agency, in-house, or executive search — ideally with exposure to leadership or hard-to-fill roles. A real sense for what hiring managers actually respond to. Strong written communication and the kind of relationship skills that make clients trust you. Self-motivation to manage your own pipeline (we'll give you the structure and support). Comfort with a commission-only, outcome-based model. You do not need recent experience, a perfect LinkedIn, or to "explain the gap." We care about what you know, not the dates on your CV.
