Every colleague is encouraged to participate in our Recruit Awesome People program, helping us grow Convergint by promoting our colleague-first culture and referring top talent to the Talent Acquisition Team and hiring managers.Under minimal supervision, has overall responsibility for application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects which are primarily larger and more complex.Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards.Serve as the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation Systems.Responsibilities may include installation, configuration, and support a local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet system or a segment of a network system.May maintain network hardware and software.Maintains IT Systems hardware and software.May monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability on assigned projects.May monitor IT systems to ensure availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support systems availability on assigned projects.Responsibilities may also include providing our customers with custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation regarding Electronic Security Systems (ESS).Typically handles larger and more complex projects.Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.What You'll NeedExcellent Access Controls, Video Management, and Intrusion Detection Systems programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, and crimper).Highly proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), AutoCAD and/or viewing software; solid networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).Experience with SQL queries and scripting, PowerShell and other script-based tasks.
