Transmission Planning Project Manager - 1898 & Co.

Overview Transmission Planning Project Manager – 1898 & Co. is a full‑time leadership role located in Atlanta, GA with additional locations in Charlotte, NC and Nashville, TN. The position requires 15% travel, 5+ years of power systems consulting experience, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Responsibilities Lead business development through proposal development, client scoping, budgeting, and scheduling. Manage the full lifecycle of transmission planning projects, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communication. Direct multidisciplinary project teams of engineers and analysts. Communicate project status, risks, and costs to stakeholders and executive leadership. Train and mentor junior staff on both technical and project management aspects of transmission planning. Perform advanced transmission planning studies (steady‑state, transient stability, short circuit, voltage analysis, production costing). Apply regulatory standards (NERC, FERC, regional policies) to ensure compliant planning. Utilize power system modeling tools (PSS®E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, EMTP/ATP, ETAP, Promod). Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, computer science, or related accredited program. 5+ years of related professional experience in power systems consulting. Strong knowledge of project management techniques and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, attention to detail. Experience leading technical aspects of consulting engagements in power systems, distribution planning, and grid modernization. Experience on consulting projects, client operations, or executing program management within the critical infrastructure industry. Understanding of general business and financial principles.
