Pediatric Certified Nurse Practitioner - Endocrinology

A Brief Overview Functions as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) collaboratively with physician sponsor(s), providing leadership of the clinical care team. Acts as a change agent for a specific patient population, incorporating the role of clinical expert, role model, consultant, educator, practitioner, researcher, and nurse leader. Provides clinical expertise to individual patients/families and/or groups of patients/families through direct and indirect patient care. Collaborates with the health care team in assessing, designing, implementing, and evaluating population-based programs of patient care to enhance high quality‑cost‑effective patient outcomes. What you will do Provide advanced-level direct and indirect care to individual patients/families and/or groups in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members. Lead education and clinical staff development by establishing staff education programs that address the specific needs of patient populations. Demonstrate collaborative leadership with researchers, health professionals, divisions, and departments to generate knowledge and implement practice changes based on evidence and quality improvement processes. Provide leadership to meet system, organizational, division, and departmental goals, demonstrating accountability for professional responsibilities and self‑development. Education & Formal Training Requirements Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing, Master’s Degree in Nursing, or Doctorate in Advanced Practice Nursing required. Work Experience Requirements 3–5 years of general nursing or clinical practice. Demonstrated through master’s degree or higher in a nursing specialty and national specialty certification as a nurse practitioner. Physical Demands Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact. Exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous or poisonous materials. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations. May require handling or administering narcotics. Ability to read, write and communicate orally and in writing. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance and push and pull up to 250 lbs. Ability to sit, stand, walk, squat, kneel, reach, twist, crawl, and bend. Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, including gripping and squeezing. Good hand‑eye coordination.
