Project Manager - Construction Management

Job Description:Job Summary:The field supervisor supervises subcontractors who are installing HVAC equipment and accessories. Ensures work meets builder’s needs and conducts quality-control checks on completed work. As needed due to staffing and customer needs, performs service, maintenance, and installation work. Work is performed under the direction of the General Manager or Production Manager.Essential Duties/Responsibilities*:Assists in all phases of HVAC residential and commercial new construction.Manages a group of sub-contractor craftsmen (installers and helpers).Walk jobs regularly and verify readiness for both HVAC rough-in and HVAC trim installations.Coordinates installation dates with scheduling team and ensures job is ready for installationCheck the jobs by phase to assure work is completed.Ensure schedule compliance completion of assigned work by Subcontractor installation crews.Coordinates with sub-contractors and office regarding punch lists or repairs as needed.Review sub-contractor invoices and approves after work is complete per phase. (check with prod mgr)May schedule inspections with local jurisdictions.Coordinates and completes paperwork for billable change orders found in the field.Meets Builder supervisors on job sites to work through any issues with installations or design.Manages all pertinent production related issues with homebuilders in the assigned area of responsibility.Builds rapport and fosters long-term relationships with builder superintendents.Follows safety policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedDuties may vary by location.Minimum Requirements:Prior HVAC experienceHigh school diploma or GEDProven track record of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneouslyBeg/Intermediate computer skills and able to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsValid driver's license requiredAbility to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required.Preferred Qualifications:3-5 years’ experience as a field supervisor in residential new construction or related experienceHVAC trade school certificationCompleted college courseworkAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must be organized and able to coordinate a large volume of requestsProactive mindsetMust be able to work independentlyMechanical aptitudeStrong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-taskWillingness to learn and be a part of a teamPositive attitude and a team playerAbility to build positive relationships with customers, both internal and externalWillingness and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.Safety mindset and acceptance of a safety cultureRelated experience may be substituted for educationWorking Conditions:Partial time spent in an office environmentPartial time spent in a field environment (hot attics, crawl spaces, uneven terrain, construction sites and finished homes).Travel by vehicle to and from work locationsRegularly exposed to construction environments involving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials and odorsComfortable working both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPEPhysical Requirements:Must be able to drive and operate a motorized passenger vehicle or forkliftMust be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequentlyFrequently performs tasks requiring climbing, bending at the waist, crawling, kneeling, crouchingMust be able to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work on platforms/scaffolding (using the appropriate fall protection requirements)Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, masks/respirators, reflective safety vests, gloves and safety toe, construction-grade work bootsMust be able to adhere to long periods of standing, walking or sittingAbility to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds to operate phones or other equipment safely.With natural or corrected vision, able to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perceptionAbility to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to othersAbility to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-key numeric keypadMust be able to use arms and hands to reach overhead, signal, grab, hold, lift, turn, push and pull objects and tools.Airtron is an equal opportunity employer.
