Warehouse General Utility - 12-Hour Night Shift

This position works out of our Columbus, Ohio plant location in the Abbott Nutrition Division. Main Purpose of Role The role of General Utility, Warehouse is responsible for a thorough working knowledge of all Plant Material Control and job functions. Must have knowledge of applicable departmental equipment and systems such as Forklift, Cambar, AMAPS, and MITS. The Utility is responsible for line support, receiving, loading, unloading, creating bills of lading (BOL’s), assuming computer room responsibilities as needed, performing full functionality in the Shipping Office while maintaining compliance to all GMP, safety, and quality guidelines. May also perform preventative maintenance, monitoring and responding to Plant and automation systems and equipment. Must meet all safety and housekeeping requirements and have the ability and leadership to cover operations in supervisor absence. What You’ll Do Creates very accurate & legible documentation, performs data entry accurately, maintains all applicable databases with needed information, and efficiently processes inbound pallets through the proper process. Performs all tasks safely, assures accurate documentation, follows all process procedures/guidelines, ensures trailers are loaded to meet weight requirements, and performs all tasks in an efficient & effective manner. Shipping/Receiving Office Functions Assure all documentation is accurate, address people in a professional manner, maintain databases with timely entries, and that BOL's are signed/dated by Common Carrier Driver and the Clerk during the shift. Maintain proper FIFO of finished products and FEFO of raw materials. May include operations of a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment. Store, pick or assemble raw materials in the warehouse, verifying the commodity number, quantity, release status, and lot number. Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills or other pertinent documentation to assure conformity and accuracy. Deliver materials to production lines in a timely manner. Maintain proper FEFO flow of raw materials. Utilize knowledge of both raw materials and finished product nomenclature. Clean up both raw material and finished goods warehouse areas. Be accountable for personal safety and adhere to safety guidelines. Communicate safety and GMP concerns to Plant Material Control/Columbus Distribution Center leadership & follow up to assure the concerns are addressed. Be accountable for performing tasks that are completed in a timely manner or need expedited. Check e‑mail at the start of each shift when possible to ensure all directives are addressed. Communicate to all shifts the status of the business. Make decisions based on awareness of area operations. Must be able to lift and maneuver objects of considerable weight (50 lbs) and be accountable for complying with applicable FDA (GMP), USDA, OSHA and Abbott Nutritional Supply Chain regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
