Termite Technician

Job Overview Termite Technicians at Rentokil are the first line of defense against wood‑destroying insects. Their role is to inspect, prevent, and treat termite problems, ensuring that customers’ properties remain safe and secure. Responsibilities Assess termite activity and determine appropriate remedial actions based on insect behavior and site conditions. Execute termite treatments in strict accordance with company standards and safety guidelines. Apply anti‑termite products to structures following prescribed schedules, safety protocols, and label instructions. Inform customers about conditions that may promote termite activity and discuss necessary structural changes or additional measures. Confirm that job specifications match the requirements of each work order. Operate and keep service vehicles and equipment in reliable working order. Fill out production paperwork that documents the services performed. Engage with customers to explain the treatment process and answer questions. Work effectively in a variety of environmental conditions, including seasonal weather, damp, or dusty locations. Set up the job site for treatment, including entering structures, crawl spaces, and climbing ladders or stairs. Work safely up to 20 feet on ladders and in confined spaces, wearing required personal protective equipment such as an OSHA‑compliant respirator. Qualifications Clean, shaven face for safe respirator use. High‑school graduate or GED. Valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence. Minimum of one year of customer‑service experience; experience in termite control is preferred. Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new procedures. Flexibility to work Monday‑Friday and Saturdays as needed. Appropriate licensing or certification required by federal, state, or local regulations (employer covers costs). Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals; ability to follow product‑label mixing instructions. Prior experience in general labor, carpentry, cement, roofing, gutter, or attic work is advantageous. Capability to work on roofs, high areas, and navigate ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
