Clayton Services is searching for a  Data Entry Specialist  to join a thriving company in West Houston. The Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for accurately entering and verifying high volumes of data, maintaining organized records, and providing administrative support to the accounting team.

• Compile, sort, and verify the accuracy of information prior to data entry.
• Enter high volumes of data into company software systems accurately and efficiently.
• Transfer information from paper documents into electronic systems.
• Verify entered data by comparing it against source documents.
• Update and maintain existing records as needed.
• Identify and research discrepancies to ensure information is complete and accurate.
• Sort, organize, and maintain paperwork following data entry.
• Provide administrative and data-entry support to accounting leadership and team members.
• Maintain accuracy while meeting established deadlines.
• Assist with increased workloads during month-end and year-end closing periods.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.

Data Entry Specialist Skills and Abilities:

• Strong 10-key and data-entry skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to identify and research discrepancies.
• Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly.

Data Entry Specialist Education and Experience:

• Previous high-volume data entry or administrative experience required.
• Previous experience supporting an accounting or finance department preferred.
• Automotive dealership accounting or dealership management system (DMS) experience is a plus.
• Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
