Independence Assistant

Independence Assistant Location: Danvers Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. $21/hr. Description TILL provides essential support to adults with developmental disabilities, learning differences, acquired brain injury, and other specialized needs through a wide range of housing options—from structured, staffed, small group living to individualized support options. The Independence Coach (Assistant) offers one‑on‑one support to a male client to promote independence, daily living skills, and community engagement. This role involves both home‑based and community‑based support, including transportation and skill‑building activities. Responsibilities Assist the individual with morning routines and preparation for work Provide transportation to and from the TILL Farm Act as a support for the individual and others during activities at the farm Assist with errands, appointments, and community‑based activities Support development of independent living skills, including organization and daily task management Encourage growth toward living independently in an apartment setting Maintain a safe and supportive environment at all times Implement appropriate safety care strategies as needed Qualifications Candidates must be 18 years of age or older High School Diploma/GED is required Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable vehicle are required Demonstrated ability to work independently in a 1:1 support setting Experience working with individuals with behavioral needs Good written and verbal skills to effectively communicate individual needs and objectives, and strong interpersonal skills Strong time‑management and organizational skills Dependable, patient, and community‑oriented mindset Benefits TILL is committed to creating a work environment that expands learning, offers career growth opportunities, and satisfies the fulfillment of making a difference in someone else’s life.
