Overview Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date 08/17/2026 for an 8-week assignment with 48 guaranteed hours per week. Responsibilities

• Plan and provide nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including emergency situations and circulating for cesarean deliveries.
• Develop multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with the health care team and adjust as needed.
• Assess and monitor fetal and maternal status, amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and respond to abnormalities; manage pain and support appropriate alternative analgesia.
• Assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor fetal and maternal status during catheter placement and after medication administration.
• Manage perinatal emergencies with appropriate clinical judgment (e.g., crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia) and coordinate with the team.
• Educate patients and families across all stages of perinatal care; supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice.

Requirements

• California RN license (active) in state of practice
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
• Two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification required
• Current Epic experience required
• Must work in an inpatient perinatal setting and be eligible for the listed credentials
