Key Responsibilities

• Read PAP and non-GYN slides, screening an average of 60–80 slides per day within limits set by CAP and Pathologist guidelines
• Perform molecular testing on PAP vials and conduct grossing as part of routine duties
• Demonstrate technical skill in all aspects of cytology processing, preparation, and staining
• Assist in specimen collection as requested
• Maintain accurate computerized patient records
• Ensure diagnoses are consistently within one grade of Pathologist or Consultant diagnosis

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an ABHES-accredited school of cytotechnology or a program approved by Health and Human Services, or must meet CAP qualifications for the Cytotechnologist position
• CT (ASCP) registration required
• Associate degree required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cytotechnologist
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of the cytotechnology department

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience with molecular testing on PAP vials and grossing procedures
