JOB SUMMARY

Women's Health Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare services focused on women's health. The WHNP will be responsible for delivering preventative care, reproductive health services, and managing common and complex gynecologic conditions in collaboration with our healthcare team.

JOB DUTIES

Conducting comprehensive health assessments, including physical exams and patient histories, with a focus on women’s health. Provide gynecologic care, including Pap smears, breast exams, STI screening, contraceptive counseling, and menopause management.

1. Diagnosing and managing ordinary women's health conditions, referring to specialists as needed.
2. Provide prenatal and postpartum care in collaboration with OB-GYN providers.
3. Educate patients on wellness, disease prevention, and reproductive health issues.
4. Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.).
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
6. Participate in quality improvement activities and maintain accurate patient records using electronic health records (EHR).
7. Stay current on women's health guidelines and best practices through continuing education.
8. Provide counseling on birth control options and manage contraceptive methods, including IUD insertions/removals and contraceptive implants.
9. Provide care and monitoring throughout pregnancy, collaborate with obstetricians, and offer postpartum follow-up visits.
10. Educate patients on safe sex practices, conduct STI screenings, and prescribe treatment when necessary.
11. Assess and manage menopausal symptoms, discuss hormone replacement therapy options, and provide ongoing care for midlife women.
12. Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, ultrasounds, and other gynecologic imaging studies
13. Manage and coordinate care for chronic conditions affecting women such as PCOS, endometriosis, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence.
14. Educate women on preventative health practices, nutrition, wellness strategies, and reproductive health across the lifespan.
15. Accurately chart patient encounters, assessments, plans of care, and follow-up actions in the EHR system records confidentiality in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and CCCHC policy.
16. Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives, performance evaluations, and adherence to evidence-based care protocols.

1. Complete charts/reports and appropriate documentation, including billing and medical records.

3. Punctuality and Attendance: This is an essential job duty for CCCHC’s employees given the impact on patients.

Must be able to operate a computer, office equipment, and software. Education and Experience Requirements Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Women’s Health. Current RN DEA and NP license in [California]; national certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC). Minimum 1-2 years of experience preferred in women’s health, OB-GYN, or reproductive health settings. Strong clinical skills in gynecological and reproductive care; excellent communication and patient education abilities; proficiency with EHR systems. Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish/English) highly preferred Working Conditions Normal clinic environment with: Walking and standing for extended periods of time, Reaching, twisting, stooping, visual acuity corrected to normal range, hand-eye coordination, grasping with fingers, hearing within normal range, sense of touch, gripping tightly required for operation of tests and measures and performance of other essential functions. Ability to manage multiple tasks while also being tactful, diplomatic, and empathetic. Ability to organize, schedule work effectively, and work independently without supervision. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with patients, customers, managers, and other levels of personnel, in person and on the telephone. Ability to pay close diligence. Ability to maintain composure under conditions of urgency and/or time constraint. Ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment. Ability to manage and maintain patient confidentiality. Commitment to quality healthcare and excellent customer service. Ability to work in a medical office environment with exposure to illness. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and at any of CCCHC’s facilities as assigned.
