Flight Paramedic

Life Flight Network is a not‑for‑profit air ambulance organization that provides advanced critical care to patients. The Flight Paramedic works with the Flight Nurse to deliver patient care aboard Life Flight aircraft, following Life Flight Network guidelines and protocols. This position offers relocation assistance of up to $10,000. Qualifications & Skills Minimum five years’ experience as a Paramedic, preferably in a large metropolitan area. Current licensure and/or certification as listed below: Paramedic certification appropriate to assigned location Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification Pre‑hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification Drivers must have a current, valid license in Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Hawai‘i, or Montana and at least three years of driving experience. FP‑C exam must be taken within one year of hire; certification obtained within two years of hire. Completion of Department of Transportation Air Medical Curriculum within six months of hire. Complies with weight restrictions (maximum 250 pounds fully outfitted). Petroleum: passport and/or entry into Canada may be required based on location assignment. Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate and work with a variety of people in both one‑on‑one and large group settings, especially in highly stressful situations. Ability to work varied shifts and cover fixed‑wing call shifts. General Accountabilities and Essential Functions Clinical Quality Works with the Flight Nurse to deliver age‑appropriate (Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric) patient care. Performs procedures as necessary: oral intubation, administration of paralytic drugs, needle thoracostomy, intravenous and intraosseous access. Provides accurate and complete patient care documentation per Life Flight Network standards. Assists in patient follow‑up with referring hospitals or agencies. Assists with equipment retrieval and return to appropriate agencies. Ensures timely cleaning and restocking of equipment to ready aircraft for service. Completes inventories and monthly checks, orders supplies, and maintains equipment in working order. Participates in day‑to‑day operations of Life Flight Network. May compile statistical data or work on related projects as assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations. Safety Ensures customer expectations are exceeded through quality service. Helps maintain safe aircraft operation to protect patients, crew, and on‑scene personnel. Enforces Life Flight Network safety policies and assists the pilot with navigation, take‑off, landing, and in‑flight procedures. Business Development Participates in the development of business and operations plans to meet medical transport service and financial performance goals. Encourages a favorable public opinion of Life Flight Network through personal contact with patients, community agencies, and hospitals. Provides flight education to the public as requested.
