From the first chuck key turn to the final mic check, you’ll run manual and semi-automatic lathes to create precision metal components that meet exact specifications. You’ll work across a range of metals and alloys, bringing strong mechanical aptitude and a quality-first mindset to every part.

• Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan your setup and work sequence.
• Set up and operate conventional lathes, dialing in speeds/feeds and tooling to hit tight tolerances.
• Measure in-process and final parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Inspect completed components, confirming conformance to prints and quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on lathes and related equipment to keep everything running smoothly.
• Troubleshoot issues as they arise—adjust tooling, correct offsets, or refine setups to resolve problems.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean work area while following all safety procedures.
• Pitch in on other tasks as assigned to support the team and production flow.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 2+ years operating manual or semi-automatic lathes in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluency in reading and interpreting prints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Hands-on skill with precision measuring tools and techniques.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality output.
• Self-directed work style with minimal supervision required.
• Proven troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving abilities.
• Solid understanding of shop safety practices and the discipline to apply them, plus the ability to work confidently with various metals and alloys.
