Career Advisor/Case Manager (Temporary) Join to apply for the Career Advisor/Case Manager (Temporary) role at Inside Higher Ed Ohlone College Salary: $30.83 - $39.37 Hourly Job Type: Part-Time Temporary Division: President's Office Opening Date: 10/21/2025 Location: Newark Center Job Number: 202300167 Department: President's Office Bargaining Unit: N/A Ideal Candidate Statement The Career Advisor/Case Manager (CACM) serves as a member of the Ohlone Career Center team and provides Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Services to community job seekers and students. The CACM provides outreach to elicit interest in WIOA services to build a caseload of job seekers who will benefit from these services. They serve as a case manager, coordinating services for job seekers, and ensuring that appropriate Career Counseling & job search support is provided to the individual. The CACM may assist with workshops, event planning, and overall career development and employer related programming and services. This position will also help coordinate outreach efforts for WIOA services at large, including large scale email blasts, partnerships with local organizations to promote WIOA services, and more. Eligibility & Case Management Coordinate eligibility, including obtaining appropriate documentation, for students/job seekers interested in WIOA services. Provide grant-funded program enrollment services to students & community members; input student and required data; review and maintain files, case notes, individual employment plans, and intake documents; provide individualized career guidance to enrolled students; assure tracking of enrollment and performance measures. Hold intake appointments with eligible students & community members to identify career & training needs; work with client to create a career development plan. Manage client electronic records and case files maintaining and updating a variety of records relating to client progress, abilities and opportunities. Coordinate delivery of services in partnership with Ohlone College staff and resources, referring client to career development workshops, 1:1 career counseling, career fairs, internships, and other career related resources as appropriate. Provide referrals to students/clients regarding community and social services resources; create and implement individualized career plans; identify barriers and develop compensatory strategies. Evaluate job seeker progress to determine case closure, successful employment or reception of unemployment benefits; input and resolve data codes in an assigned database; assure the accuracy and completeness of eligibilities, documentation and case notes. Provide guidance to job seekers regarding vocational training; determine training eligibility and approval; provide assessments for outside agencies; maintain and submit required documents; assure compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Manage student/client electronic records and case files maintain and update a variety of records relating to client progress, abilities and opportunities. Conduct internal audits of peer files; assure compliance of documents and records with County laws, rules and regulations; generate and submit feedback and corrections to assigned personnel in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Prepare and maintain a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to personnel, grant requirements and assigned activities. Support career development services at local Tri-Cities Adult Schools. Coordinate and support workshops & Career Services information sessions for job seekers; assist with conducting job search workshops; generate, update and maintain workshop curriculum; evaluate training curriculum to assure effectiveness and diversity of training techniques and learning styles. Outreach: Outreach to job seekers to promote career services & WIOA via CalJobs blasts, email & phone. Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders including Ohlone College faculty, staff, students; Alameda County Workforce Development Board; and local community-based organizations & agencies. Employer Engagement: Interact with employers as needed to support recruiting activities. Identify and become familiar with recruiting and employment trends for the Greater Bay Area/Silicon Valley, state, and nation. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Salary Placement Initial salary placement will be $30.83-$34.00 per hour and is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
