Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a full-time contract role working with kindergarten through 4th-grade students in a communication disorder classroom. You’ll collaborate with a small group, focusing attention on the diverse needs of 10 students, and creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment each day from Monday through Friday.

Qualifications & Certifications:

• Current and valid IL LBS1 teaching certification
• Experience working with students with communication disorders preferred
• Strong organizational, behavioral management, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to tailor instruction to individual needs
• Commitment to fostering growth and positive experiences for all students

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) suited to each student’s unique goals
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to support communication and cognitive growth
• Partner with speech and language professionals, classroom assistants, and families to promote student progress
• Maintain thorough records, monitor student achievement, and ensure compliance with school guidelines
• Create a nurturing, structured classroom where every child feels valued and empowered
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and ongoing communication with guardians
